Today, I will write about a website that I use a lot for my iOS apps: App Annie!
This Hong-Kong-based company has developed a nice set of tools that help app developers (iOS and now Android) gather information about how well their apps perform on the various instances of the AppStore and Google Play. With more than 60% of the Top 100 Apps publishers, representing more than 75,000 apps (for iOS), this product is really a must for everyone interested in the performance of their apps.
The three main tools they propose are:
– Store Stats
This free web service automatically connects to your ItunesConnect account (for Apple; Google Developer account for Android) every day then retrieves and stores the most important data for each of your app: number of download/updates, in-app purchases, revenue (both from downloads and iAds), rankings and reviews from each country that has a store available. Those data are aggregated on their web site and nice graphs are generated so you can easily see the performance of your apps.
One very important point in my opinion is the fact that they don’t ask you to use any cumbersome SDK or API. They just connect on your behalf to Apple and Google servers (of course, you have to provide them with your login/password) and store all the data on their own servers.
Each day, App Annie will send you an email containing a “Daily Report” with the performance of each of your apps.
The “featured” option is also quite interesting as it allows you to see in which countries your apps perform the most in terms of downloads, rankings and gross revenue. You can also see this information per day, so you can track your performance history. Very nice!

2. Store Stats
This tool allows you to see what apps (both iOS and Android) perform the most in each category and country. There are three sections: Paid Apps, Free Apps, Grossing. You can also search for your apps to see if they are in the Top 5 😉
