When you have an app that uses data from the Address Book, it is always good to have a lot of contacts to work with. On your iPhone, it is easy as you can use your own contacts. But on the iPhone Simulator, it is another problem as it only contains a few contacts.
As I started the development of a new version for MyFriendsMap (compatible with iOS 7), I wanted to test it with a big list of contacts. So, I searched the web and found a very interesting sample app on GitHub: CBSimulatorSeed.
This little piece of code will generate for you random contacts with the following information:
- Full name (first and last name)
- Person or Organization
- Image (thumbnail)
I have customized it for my own testing so it generates groups and random addresses for my contacts. So, the possibilities are endless!
If you need random contacts to test your app, use CBSimulatorSeed 🙂
EDIT: I have made an archive with my modified version of the project. No configuration is needed, simply open it by clicking on the CBSimulatorSeed.xcworkspace file. The archive is available here.
